It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through 2020. In some ways, this year has flown by. But in other ways, it feels like it’s dragged on for 5 years already.

Anyway, since it’s important to check in with yourself and your business regularly, I thought I’d report on my mid-year check-in with my Amazon and Etsy businesses.

I know people generally love the transparent breakdowns so in this post, I’m going to be completely transparent about…

  • My sales numbers for Amazon and Etsy
  • Which products sold best
  • And how I’m preparing to make the second half of 2020 even better
This post specifically deals with Amazon and Etsy and not my other ventures, including my marketing courses, eBay income, warehouse, stocks, et cetera.

And of course, I also can’t say that any of this is “typical” – these are all just my specific numbers.

That said, let’s get going with the mid-year review…

Here are my 2020 sales details (so far)

During the first half of 2002, I earned $221,520.90 on Amazon.

Here’s the monthly breakdown:

January

February

March

April

May

For Etsy, my stats are as follows:

Store #1 – $60,180.53
Store #2 – $649.01

Store #5 – $14,404.05

That’s a total of $99,226.42 in Etsy sales for 2020 thus far.

My Amazon + Etsy income for 2020 has been $320, 747.32

For Amazon, my best-sellers have been…

Bestseller #3 – 11 oz white, ceramic, text-based coffee mug (627 sales)
Bestseller #4 – 14 oz stainless steel, text-based travel mug (315 sales)

There was a total of 11,449 units ordered on Amazon, and these top 10 make up ~34% of all orders (or 3,930 sales).

Here’s how my sales fared during the same timeframe last year

Last year, from January 1, 2019 through June 30, 2019, I grossed $144,027.59 on Amazon.

Here’s what I’m doing to make the second half of 2020 even better

To keep my sales going through during the second half of the year, I plan on doing a few key things:

(NOTE: Several of these things are repeats from my other review posts. But they’re evergreen tactics to generate more sales and traffic.)

1. Send more products to FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon).

Every product of mine that’s in FBA is one that I don’t need to worry about fulfilling later. And while you don’t need to have products in FBA to succeed with LHS, it does boost your conversions, as customers love purchasing items with the “Prime” label.

2. Come up with more designs.

This is the number one thing I say to anyone who wants to get more LHS sales. It’s a number’s game – the more designs you make, the more sales you’ll earn.

3. Create more products.

I want to experiments with selling different types of products, especially Christmas ornaments and journals.

4. Look for more possible great niches using SpotNiches.

I can’t say enough good things about this tool. SpotNiches lets you know what customers are hungry for but isn’t necessarily available to them yet. This gives you the opportunity to create products that fill this gap and make easy sales.

5. Double down on Etsy.

I’ve got some Etsy case studies that I want to implement for my Etsy store challenge to try and get more sales there.

…Those are my 5 big action steps for the rest of 2020.

And because I’ve designed my Jumpstart program to incorporate all of the most important elements in getting sales, each one of these is covered in my Done For You Jumpstart program.

And speaking of which…
