Success story from a Low Hanging System Student – Fiona Mullarkey

by | May 4, 2022

Hi, my name’s Fiona. I live in Kingston upon Thames in the UK, and I saw Rachel’s webinar through Facebook and was excited to learn more. But I was a little hesitant because I’ve never sold anything online, but loved the idea of any money without having to go into an office. I’d been a stay-at-home mom for a little while and loved the idea of getting involved in e-commerce.

I liked the idea that you’re selling products on Etsy to a marketplace where people are already looking for something to buy. There’s no hard sell involved. So I joined in August and I started to get a grip with things in September, I would say. There’s so much information on Low Hanging System, which is great, but it can be a little bit overwhelming.

Where do you find the information that you need? And that’s where the Facebook group comes into its own. It’s run by Adam and Shelly and they are so supportive. There’s also lots of people on it who have been doing Low Hanging System for longer. And they’re very helpful. If you ask a question, usually within a few minutes, you’ve got good enough.

Rachel’s approach also helps those of us who are not very tech-savvy. So it’s you don’t ever feel, “Oh, I can’t do this.”

I’m glad there’s somebody to ask, there’s always somebody so much find out that information. I got my first sale a few weeks ago and they’ve been coming in steadily since, so really excited to continue the journey.

And I’m very grateful for what I’ve learned. Rachel herself even provides feedback on the stores, which is amazing. It did feel… Before I got the first sale, I was thinking, “Gosh, is this going to work?” Because I was putting into practice the advice and it didn’t seem to be happening, but I was told to be patient, it will come through and then sure enough, everything I was did come true. So that was great. One of the most important things that I’ve taken on board is how mindset is hugely important as is having a positive approach. And this sometimes can sound quite alien to us in the UK. I know I’ve heard this advice before and I’ve dismissed it as just words, but somehow the way that it was put with in Low Hanging System, it just kind of got through to me somehow. But yeah, you’re encouraged to not view setbacks as more than a setback to you. They shouldn’t put you off trying again.

I always remember Adam saying, “Well, it’s the worst that can happen. You list a design and it doesn’t sell a big deal. You just listed another one.”

You know, it’s not like we’re doctors and you make a mistake and something serious could happen. So it’s quite reassuring to hear something like that. I think LHS is different from other courses with regard to the support that you get.

You even get an accountability rep to make sure you’re on track. But you also get the impression that Rachel and her team really want you to do well. And they’re delighted when you, you make sales. And again, I know this sounds quite strange but it’s true really. I was in the fish and chip shop near where I live, waiting for an order the other week.

And I thought I just checked my phone and the sale had come through. It was just, just quite amazing, but you’re just sitting there and that happens. So yeah, so initially I was stumped with design ideas because it’s not really my kind of forte. B ut again, they give you so much information and so many ideas. And now, I really like the process of coming up with different ideas and what to do, what to put on mugs. So that’s it. Okay.
