Apple CEO Tim Cook’s Own Rules

by | Feb 8, 2022

Tim Cook.

All eyes were on him after he took over as CEO of Apple right after the legendary Steve Jobs.

Some people even doubted he had what it takes to continue Steve’s legacy.

But Tim himself?

He didn’t have such doubts.

Sure, he knew of the high bar set by his predecessor…

He knew of Apple’s unparalleled legacy for innovation…

And he knew of his huge responsibility to take the company to the next level.

But he didn’t feel any sort of pressure to follow in the footsteps of Steve.

Why?

Because he was determined to leave his own mark!

In fact, in one Q&A at Duke University, Tim told young leaders something important:

“Write your own rules.”

He said any leader who wants to excel must have their own rules.

After all, if you do everything with the same formula everyone else is using…

Then the best you can do is reach the same height of success as everyone else.

My personal approach to life is to set up businesses that allow me to travel the world as I wish and support my family – as well as those less fortunate.

What about you?

Are you playing life by your own rules that you created – your own game plan – or living out someone else’s rules for your life?

And, when would now be a good time to start mapping out your own rules for life?
